Post Doctoral Research Fellow

Cerebrovascular hemodynamics

Applications are invited for a Post Doctoral Research Fellowship at the Centre for Computational Science at UCL. The successful candidate will join a very active inter-disciplinary group at the Centre for Computational Science, working between two interlinked projects funded by EU FP7, the Virtual Physiological Human Network of Excellence and Contra Cancrum.

The project will involve development, deployment and application of advanced computational methods to support clinical decision-making in interventional neurosurgery. It will involve collaboration with a clinical team at UCL Hospital.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience of the use of lattice-Boltzmann methods for 3D fluid dynamics within a high performance computing environment. Experience of high performance visualisation and medical imaging methodologies would be advantageous. Applicants should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in physics, applied mathematics, chemistry, computational biology or computer science and a proven ability to work as a member of a team.

The position is available to start on or after 1 January 2010, for a period of up to two years. Salary will be on the UCL pay scale at Grade 7 (£28,839 - £35,469 plus London Allowance), depending on qualifications and experience.
